November 11, 2022 – YOSHIKI, HYDE, SUGIZO and MIYAVI, four major forces from Japan’s rock scene, announce their new star-studded band THE LAST ROCKSTARS. Two song teaser videos have been released today, one for “THE LAST ROCKSTARS (Lyrics by YOSHIKI, Composed by YOSHIKI)” and the other for “PSYCHO LOVE (Lyrics by YOSHIKI / HYDE, Composed by HYDE)”. It was announced that these 2 songs are slated to be released very soon. The band will unleash their debut live performances on January 26th amp; 27th at Ariake Arena and January 29th amp; 30th at Tokyo Garden Theatre, with presale beginning today at 12:30PM JST. U.S. shows on February 4th at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and February 10th at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles go on sale today at 7AM PST/10AM EST. YOSHIKI has several monumental accomplishments under his belt both as the leader of X JAPAN and as an accomplished solo artist. He has been named “one of the most influential musicians and composers in Japanese history” by Consequence of Sound and has composed Hollywood film soundtracks, a concerto for the Emperor of Japan, and the official theme song for the Golden Globe Awards. He has performed at the world’s greatest stages including Madison Square Garden, Wembley Arena, Coachella Music Festival, and Carnegie Hall. In addition to his music, YOSHIKI has been internationally recognized for his philanthropy, and was awarded a Medal of Honor by the Japanese government. HYDE is internationally recognized as the vocalist for L’arc-en-Ciel, VAMPS, and as a successful solo artist. LOS ANGELES, CA (December 14th, 2022) – THE LAST ROCKSTARS, comprised of four of Japan’s biggest rock stars – YOSHIKI, HYDE, SUGIZO, and MIYAVI – are adding a second show at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on February 3rd, due to overwhelming demand.

The announcement follows the group’s worldwide reveal last month, where they announced a series of "Live Debut" shows scheduled for early 2023 in Tokyo, New York, and Los Angeles. Tickets are still available for New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium shows.

The four legendary rock musicians announced the formation of THE LAST ROCKSTARS on November 11th on stage in Tokyo in what they call a race against time to preserve the spirit of rock music. The idea to join together came organically according to all members, with the goal to “make the world rock” in the New Year.

YOSHIKI, who plays the drums and piano, is the new group’s leader. HYDE will take vocals, and MIYAVI, famously known as the “samurai guitarist,” will bring his slap-style guitar playing to the group. SUGIZO will round out the band on guitar.

“We’ve come together to start this challenge for the world out of Japan,” YOSHIKI of X JAPAN told reporters at the press conference on November 11th.

“This may be our last chance at this challenge,” SUGIZO said. “We want to put what’s left of our lives on the line to make the world rock with our music.”

The single will be distributed globally by Ingrooves Music Group to music streaming services. (Ingrooves is part of Virgin Music Group, the newly formed global independent music division of Universal Music Group.) Melodee is a next-generation platform connecting artists and creators with their fans.

This release marks the first of what will be a big roll out of new music to come from the group through 2023. A music video for the hard hitting, alternative rock anthem is also scheduled to drop the same day.

The announcement comes on the heels of a worldwide live reveal on November 11th in Tokyo, where the four international rock legends announced a series of "Live Debut" shows scheduled for early 2023 in Tokyo, New York, and Los Angeles. On Saturday, February 11 at 5:00pm JST / 12AM PST all members of THE LAST ROCKSTARS, YOSHIKI, HYDE, SUGIZO, and MIYAVI, will appear live after the final performance of their first tour in LA.
